The Property

The house is a compact and cosy 3 bed semi-detached 2 storey house. It is an excellent accommodation. This room to let is a cosy, single room. The floors are fitted with carpet and the window has curtains. The single bed is super comfy. There is a bedside locker with a lamp, a tall chest of drawers and a fitted wardrobe. We have cable TV and WiFi with strong signal throughout the house. The shared bathroom is immaculate and kept clean and tidy. It features a shower cabin, a washbasin and a WC. There is a kitchen will all modern appliances, a dining room and also a living room. The kitchen is compact but fitted with everything you need to prepare, cook and eat your meals. It has a washing machine, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, an oven, a grill, a hob, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and cupboard storage space. The dining room has a lovely table and chairs where you can eat your meals. The sitting room is gorgeous, and the floors are fitted with wooden floorboards which add charm and character. The room has comfy couch seating, a fireplace and a TV for entertainment. We have also a nice back garden. The house is comfortable and has a warm atmosphere.

The Location

The house is conveniently located right beside the bus stop which goes directly into the city centre and is every 10 minutes. Dun Laoghaire town centre is a 5 minute bus ride from the house or a 15 minutes’ walk. We are extremely luck to live in the Dun Laoghaire area. Dun Laoghaire is famous in Dublin for its beautiful seafront where people from all over Dublin come out especially on a Sunday to the fantastic farmers market to sample foods from all over the world and to eat a famous Teddy's ice-cream. We have a beautiful pier to walk on and a lovely seafront. We have a bus stop right outside the house with direct bus link to the city centre via the 46a bus and to Dundrum Shopping Centre via the 75 bus. The bus journey is only 10/15 minutes to University College Dublin (UCD) and 20/30 minutes to the city centre depending on traffic. The location is ideal for students attending the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) as it is only a 5 minute walk from my front door. It is also a great location if you are working at Sandyford Business Park, as it is only 5 kms away. We are also lucky to have a Tesco supermarket within a two minute walk together with post office, pharmacy and various coffee shops. There is also a Lidl within a ten minute walk and two local pubs within a 5 minute walk. The house is also walking distance to Dun Laoghaire Dart (Train) Station.

The Host

My name is Gillian and I work in a doctors surgery 2 days a week and then have a business that I work in the other 3 days of the week. I live with my son Louis who is 13. We are both busy and out from the morning every day in school and in work. We are both very friendly and love meeting new people from different countries and always make our students feel welcome and part of our family. We want whoever is staying with us to feel comfortable and at home.
