This agreement of the following terms and conditions is between Hosting Power Ltd and a Host willing to host one or several students in their home during their studies in Dublin.

Hosting Power Ltd agrees to provide students to the Host and the Host agrees to accept students under the following terms and conditions:

Placement

Hosting Power will do its best to find as many students as the Host is willing to accept, but cannot guarantee that all the expectations of the Host will be fulfilled and cannot give any guarantee of Student placement.

Rental Payment

Each Host will receive rental payment made by the Student on a weekly basis. The payment for the first week’s stay with the Host will be paid upfront. Each rental payment will be made on the same day of the week that the Student arrived, and so on until the end of the placement. Hosting Power Ltd will advise the Host of the amount and the length of placement before the booking is finalized. The Host is not authorised to charge any additional fees to the Students. Neither Student nor Host may lend or borrow money from each other.

Deposit

The host can request a deposit to the value of either 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks of rent. If the host does require a deposit, he/she needs to indicate this to Hosting Power at the time of the home visit, at the very latest, and indicate clearly the value of the deposit required (maximum 4 weeks rent). The deposit must be collected on the day of the students arrival by the host, and the host is fully responsible for collecting it. The deposit must be refunded by the host directly to the student, at the very latest, on the day of the students departure.

All Deposits must be refunded. Hosts may only retain the deposit under the circumstances below; 

- If the student terminates the lease prior to end of the duration booked AND does not give 7 days notice (Deposit retained not to exceed the amount of rent due) 

- Nonpayment of rent

- Damage to the property, other than normal wear and tear of the property

- Excessive cleaning costs of the room, other than cleaning due to normal wear and tear

Conditions of Hosting

The Host is expected and fully agrees to:

- Provide the student with full and private use of his/her room, and access to all shared rooms, as designated by him/herself, which at the very least should include the main bathroom (if the room doesn't come with a private bathroom) and the kitchen.

- Contact the Student by email or telephone to introduce themselves within 48 hours after the agreed placement with Hosting Power Ltd. Moreover they should provide directions to their accommodation. The contact details will be provided by Hosting Power Ltd

- Provide a clean, friendly and secure environment for the Student. It's important to make the Student feel at home and as if she/he is truly welcome.

- Respect the Student's cultural background(s) and to be sensitive to their particular need.

- Provide access to a good internet connection, 7 days a week.

- Provide the Student with a furnished bedroom and a private or shared bathroom. The room must be equipped with a real and comfortable bed (not overused and no air mattresses), closet space, lighting and a set of bed linen.

- Give access to laundry facilities to the Student, at a time and frequency decided according to the house rules. The Host is not required to do laundry for the Guest.

- Provide the same room to the student that was shown to and approved by Hosting Power Ltd. The Host is required to notify Hosting Power Ltd of any other room being used in its place or any major changes/renovations to the room indicated

- Give the Student their own house key from the day of their arrival and to inform them of any existing alarm codes

 - Give the Student an adequate overview of nearby public transport (access, timetables, price, etc) and advise them on alternative methods of transport (ex. by foot or bicycle)

 - Ensure that during the entire stay, a responsible person is available and able to perform all of the requirements in this document if the Host is away from home during the Student's stay

 - In the event of illness or injury of the Student, the Host is required to call a doctor or emergency services if necessary and to secure any needed medical treatment

 - Keep confidential any and all senstive information about the Student, and, if deemed prudent, to share this information only with Hosting Power Ltd

 - Have valid home liability insurance

To clearly indicate to the Student the house rules, including:

- Use of the common areas, television, telephone, outdoor smoking areas and how the Students should maintain his/her room, if applicable

- Hours that the Student is able to use the kitchen. The Student should be allowed use of the entire kitchen and all appliances in order to prepare their own meals. The Host can restrict access to the kitchen for certain times (eg: when they wish to prepare their own meal) but this time restriction should be no longer than 1 hour and no more than 2 times a day (eg. no use between 11-12pm and 6-7pm)

- General chores. Fair division of the general chores such as cleaning of the shared bathroom, if applicable. Under no circumstances are Students to be solely responsible for general chores

- Access, use and cost of the landline telephone.  The Student is responsible to pay for any and all charges that arise from using the landline telephone even if these charges arrive after the Student’s departure. Note, that it is not mandatory to give the Student access to the landline, but rather at the Host's discretion

Note

Please note as all Students are over 18 years old, a curfew is not to be imposed on them

Students are not allowed to have any overnight visitors and day time visits are allowed only with the Host's permission 

Termination

If circumstances arise that require the Host to terminate the placement before the end of the agreed placement period, the Host must provide the Student and Hosting Power Ltd with a 7 day notice of termination. If the Host doesn't respect the terms and conditions as set up in this document or doesn't respect the standards of conduct, the Student or Hosting Power Ltd may terminate the placement without advance notice and without any extra cost to the Student. The Host will refund prorated amounts paid with no deductions to the Student before the termination date.

In the event where the Student is terminating placement early for personal reasons, the Student is required to give both the Host and Hosting Power 7 days notice. If the Student leaves before the end of this 7 day period, the Host is not required to prorate a refund to the Student. If the Student doesn't respect the terms and conditions as set up in their contract or doesn't respect the standards of conduct, the Host or Hosting Power Ltd may terminate the placement without advance notice and the Student must pay the full week's rent before they leave.

Hosting Power Ltd reserves the right to remove any Host listings upon failure to adhere to the above terms and conditions.​

Photo Release 

The Host agrees to the use of photographs taken by Hosting Power of their property. These photos will be used to create the hosts online profile and may be used in promotion of the service in social media, advertising and other third party forums. 

Exclusion of Responsibility

The Host understands and accepts that Hosting Power Ltd must rely on the information provided by the Student and that most of the information and documents will be impossible to verify. Hosting Power Ltd will never place a Student if it is known that any information may lead to suspicious or illegal behaviour, but it must be understood that the behaviour of the Student cannot be guaranteed.

The Host accepts full responsibility and risk for any injury or damage to the Host's property caused during the Host's participation in the Student's placement. The Host releases and forever discharges Hosting Power Ltd, its respective owners, agents and employees, from all actions, causes of actions, suits, claims, or demands whatsoever, that may arise from the Host's participation in the placement program.

The Host is required to check with their home insurance policy to ensure that they are covered by having an additional resident.

Performance

The Host confirms and guarantee that all the information presented in the Host’s application is true and complete, and are happy and prepared to welcome a Student into their home.

The Host confirms and guarantees that all the points contained in the above have been fully read, understood and accepted.
