I arrived at Pauline’s home on 12 May 2026, when I had just arrived in Ireland. Since then, my stay has generally been a good and positive experience.
Pauline has provided me with a welcoming and comfortable place to stay during an important period of adjustment to life in Ireland. I have had good access to the house and have generally been able to use the shared facilities, including the kitchen, bathroom, shower and washing facilities, without significant difficulty. Having access to these facilities has made my stay considerably easier and has allowed me to maintain my normal daily routine.
I also appreciate the opportunity to have had a place where I could settle while finding my feet in a new country, particularly during the early stages of starting my work and establishing myself in Ireland.
As with any living arrangement, every person has their own strengths, preferences and areas where things may not always be perfect. I believe it is important to recognise this fairly rather than expect everything to be ideal. There have naturally been some differences in personalities, routines and expectations, but overall these have not taken away from my general positive experience of staying in Pauline’s home.
From 12 May until now, I would describe my stay as generally good and satisfactory. I am grateful to Pauline for providing accommodation during this important period of my transition and settlement in Ireland.
I would also like to inform Hosting Power that I will be leaving Pauline’s home on Friday, 21 August 2026 as i have found my own accommodation, bringing my stay to an end. I am grateful for the accommodation and for the opportunity to have had this place to stay while I settled into my new life in Ireland.

I found a home and two people who quietly became family. My family and I were unsure at first. Living with strangers in a new country felt overwhelming. But within days, that fear disappeared. John and Fionn made space for me in a way that felt natural, not forced. They took me on my first grocery run, helped me get my Leap card, and showed me how everyday life worked. Small things, but when you’ve just moved countries, those small things mean everything.
They welcomed my food, my culture, and all my stories. They listened to my rants about university and encouraged me through my master’s. The location was very convenient; to get downtown I took the 15B or the 16, and for UCD there was the direct S6 in the morning, no transfers needed. The location is ideal: it is perfectly situated near bus stops and supermarkets, all for a very reasonable price. Rosemary is a wonderful host—extremely kind and welcoming. Right from my arrival, she gave me plenty of great advice for my trip. If you are looking for a place to stay a couple of months in Ireland, I strongly recommend staying here!
