When I moved to Dublin in 2023, I thought I was simply booking a place to stay through Hosting Power. Here’s the thing. I didn’t just find accommodation. I found a home and two people who quietly became family. My family and I were unsure at first. Living with strangers in a new country felt overwhelming. But within days, that fear disappeared. John and Fionn made space for me in a way that felt natural, not forced. They took me on my first grocery run, helped me get my Leap card, and showed me how everyday life worked. Small things, but when you’ve just moved countries, those small things mean everything.
They welcomed my food, my culture, and all my stories. They listened to my rants about university and encouraged me through my master’s. When I was sick, they cared for me the way my parents would have. Those first few weeks, I was homesick and cried more than I’d like to admit. Then slowly, without even realizing it, that feeling faded. Because the house didn’t feel temporary anymore. It felt safe. It felt steady. It felt like home. They made my first birthday away from family special. My first Easter. My first Christmas. Even my first Diwali away from home didn’t feel lonely because they made sure I celebrated and felt cared for. My stay ended, but our relationship didn’t. We still meet, still talk, still share life updates. That doesn’t happen with hosts. That happens with family.
If you’re lucky enough to stay with John and Fionn, you’re not just finding a place to live, you’re finding a safe, caring, and loving home. I couldn’t have asked for better hosts, and I’ll always be grateful for the year I spent with them.

The bathroom was good, the heating worked well, and there was enough wardrobe and storage space. I also really appreciated the comfortable reclining armchair and the spacious, comfortable bed, which made the stay much more relaxing.
The landlady was always kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. She made the whole experience smooth and welcoming, especially during an important transition period for me after moving to Ireland. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

I had a comfortable and pleasant stay at Geraldine's studio. The space is very well equipped and I had everything I needed throughout my stay. Having the washing machine and dryer inside was a really practical and convenient touch. The kitchen was well stocked, the internet connection was reliable throughout, and the towels, bedding, and general amenities were all taken care of.
Given the proximity to the sea and the general dampness and cold of the Irish climate, I asked Geraldine if she could provide a dehumidifier. She was very gracious in doing so and it made a real difference to the comfort and feel of the space.
The area is really lovely, peaceful and quiet with a strong family atmosphere. It is a great base for walks to Bull Island or St Anne's Park, and the DART is very close by, getting you into the city centre quickly and easily.
I felt safe and at home throughout my stay. Geraldine is a warm and attentive host and I would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a comfortable, well located place to stay in Dublin.

I spent three months at this house while writing my university thesis, and it was a wonderful experience! Pauline and Terry are fantastic hosts always kind, quiet, and helpful. The house was always clean and tidy. I felt very comfortable and welcome throughout my entire stay.

During my stay, Angela has always been so kind and nice to me. The house was clean and the room was as described. Furthermore, Angela was always available and willing to help.
The house is very nice and has everything you need. The family is respectful and very kind. Nearby, there is a shopping centre, supermarkets, and a gym. I’m very grateful because they made my stay very easy. Highly recommended.

He helped a lot not only regarding the studio but also in everything I need during my stay in Ireland.
The only reason I left the studio was because I had to leave the country, otherwise I would stay more years in his place.

When I compared my experience with my friends’, I was shocked to realize that I was the only one who had absolutely no problems with my accommodation.

The condition of the property did not match the pictures shown online. The bedroom was in a very poor and dirty condition when we arrived, which should have been checked before our stay. There was visible mould (around the window and behind the wardrobe), clearly present long before we moved in. The room was also not very functional (no proper curtains, only one bedside lamp for two people, and a door that didn’t close properly).
The bathroom lacked basic equipment and the heating was insufficient, making it uncomfortable since we stayed during winter.
More generally, the house was poorly maintained. Cleaning seems to be superficial rather than thorough, and many items and appliances are old, worn out, or not working properly.Cleaning equipment was broken or dirty, several appliances were in bad condition, and overall cleanliness was lacking.
