When I moved to Dublin in 2023, I thought I was simply booking a place to stay through Hosting Power. Here’s the thing. I didn’t just find accommodation. I found a home and two people who quietly became family. My family and I were unsure at first. Living with strangers in a new country felt overwhelming. But within days, that fear disappeared. John and Fionn made space for me in a way that felt natural, not forced. They took me on my first grocery run, helped me get my Leap card, and showed me how everyday life worked. Small things, but when you’ve just moved countries, those small things mean everything.
They welcomed my food, my culture, and all my stories. They listened to my rants about university and encouraged me through my master’s. When I was sick, they cared for me the way my parents would have. Those first few weeks, I was homesick and cried more than I’d like to admit. Then slowly, without even realizing it, that feeling faded. Because the house didn’t feel temporary anymore. It felt safe. It felt steady. It felt like home. They made my first birthday away from family special. My first Easter. My first Christmas. Even my first Diwali away from home didn’t feel lonely because they made sure I celebrated and felt cared for. My stay ended, but our relationship didn’t. We still meet, still talk, still share life updates. That doesn’t happen with hosts. That happens with family.
If you’re lucky enough to stay with John and Fionn, you’re not just finding a place to live, you’re finding a safe, caring, and loving home. I couldn’t have asked for better hosts, and I’ll always be grateful for the year I spent with them.

The stay was pleasant and Room A just finished renovation. Pretty cozy plase but you should consider it is attic, not for big people (higher than 170 cm).

The bath is semi private, shared with only one other person (from room B) and pretty well made.
Hot water could be boiled in just 15 minutes and laundry made in 14, which is awesome.
Great value for money if you have someone reliable to stay with. But consider that the place is not for people with a big build.

Damian is a sound, super kind and easygoing host who is lovely to chat to. He communicated very well to me about anything that concerns me (E.g. when I got the deposit refund back) and paying rent was easy with him. The house itself is nice and clean and it has everything you need for a nice stay. It is in a good location with bus stops nearby and the train station is not too far as well. I had an amazing time with him and his dog Lola and it was the perfect place for me to find my feet for my first internship in Dublin.

The room she rents out is very clean, the linens are great and the house is in pristine condition. There’s PLENTY of space in the wardrobe and in the room as well, not like the usual Dublin box rooms.

Facilities: Everything in the house works perfectly.
Cleanliness: The house is always bright and spotlessly clean.
Convenience: All necessary amenities are always accessible. A special plus from me for the lightweight vacuum cleaner, which was always available.
Everyone in the house equally contributes to an atmosphere of respectful and kind neighborliness. I felt as if I were staying with close relatives. I was very lucky to complete my project in such comfortable conditions.

The house itself was very spacious and comfortable, we had everything we needed and if you have a car it is located at a great distance from the town.
Our room was huge, warm and with really comfy beds (king size) and a desk to allow you work or study without hesitation in your room (the wi-fi was great too!). You really can't appreciate everything from the pictures. Would recommend to stay at Kay's to anyone.
